Lesson 12: Moses 512-59 (Genesis 4)

Welcome back everyone. I hope you enjoyed the three day weekend.

Today we reviewed a lot and perhaps I took some liberties in emphasizing some of the lesson’s main points by spending more time than I had to cover all the topics.

The main point of today’s lesson is that parents are to teach their children right from wrong and to love God. Satan will sometimes tempt us to follow him and from time to time we may find ourselves giving into those temptations. But, never forget the Holy Ghost is always calling unto us to repent and change our ways. The Lord does not forget his children, even when we chose to forget Him.

As we learned about Cain and Abel, we learned Cain was not born a bad guy. In fact, he was brought up in a wholesome home with parents kind and dear (Adam & Eve). Cain knew right from wrong and was taught to love the Lord God, but allowed himself to be deceived by the devil even unto becoming a son of perdition. Cain lost his way and became so caught up in his wrong doings; so much so he couldn’t foresee or care about the consequences of his actions.

Sometimes good people get caught in bad situations by making poor choices. We can overcome the consequences of our actions as we repent and change. Heavenly Father has provided us with a Savior to make it so. No matter the predicament, we can repent. We can change. We can follow the path our parents taught us to follow. We can find love for God and He will always love us.
