Summary of Two Lessons

Adam and Even continued to have children and raise them
according to the commandment of the Lord. They taught their children the plan
of salvation including the consequences of The Fall and the importance of being
baptized.
Because of The Fall we leave God’s presence, come to the
earth, receive physical bodies, experience sorrow, and suffer both physical and
spiritual death.

Our fallen condition effects our relationship with God (see
Moses 6:50-52 and Mosiah 3:19). When we give into our carnal selves we are
allowing ourselves to become an enemy to God. But when we head His voice and
follow his commandments becoming as little children we can obtain companionship
of the Holy Ghost and be brought back into the presence of the Lord.
If we believe, repent, and are baptized in the name of Jesus
Christ, then we will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Adam asked God why this we must be baptized, (see Moses
6:53) and God answers, (see Moses 6:54-57).
We must be born again in order to be sanctified from all sin
and to inherit eternal life. This requires water, spirit, and blood, (See Moses
6:59-61). Justified means to be pardoned from punishment for sin and declared
guiltless. To be sanctified means to be free from sin, pure, clean and holy
through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
We can know when we are being purified through the Atonement
of Jesus Christ when the Holy Ghost rest upon us as our constant companion.
I feel the effects of the Atonement everyday as I strive to
repent and be a better person. The Holy Ghost is constantly guiding me to
choose the right even when I make mistakes. I know these things because someone
invited me to learn these truth for myself. Someone invited me to attend a
church meeting and introduced me to the missionaries. I have a testimony of the
gospel because someone challenged me to seek out these things for myself. I
invite you to give someone the same opportunity. As you develop your own
testimony and understanding – share it with others and invite them to “come and
see.”
